Printmaking Hangout -- Free Block Printmaking Meetup | Thurs. Feb. 20 | 6:30 - 9:00 PM
Whether you’re new to block printmaking or experienced, join us for a free group session to work alongside other enthusiasts at JC Print Room!
Block printmaking is a method where you carve into a material and print an impression of the carved surface with ink onto paper, fabric, or any other materials. Block printing can include lino prints (carving linoleum), woodblock prints (carving wood), and rubber stamping (carving rubber).
All experience levels are welcome. This is not an instructed class, but more of an informal meetup where we can learn from each other and work collaboratively. We hope to make this a regular event.
Space is limited, so RSVP is required; please register below.
Hosted by Ashlyn Spector and Bruno Nadalin
Please bring your own carving materials and supplies, and we’ll provide the brayers and some other supplies! Recommended materials:
Carving tool (Speedball linoleum cutter recommended for beginners)
Block printing ink (we will have black oil-based ink available for communal use)
Tracing paper
Paper or fabric to print on
Sharpie markers, pencils or other drawing materials
